Crap Excuses My Friend Gave Me for Not Reading "The Walking Dead"

I had a friend who was into reading great Comics, Books and Movies like I was years ago. He recently moved back and there was so much stuff I wanted to introduce him to in the 10+ years he'd been away. He said that just before he moved he was watching "Games Of Thrones" on HBO, so I thought a great Graphic Novel I could let him borrow was the fantastic "Walking Dead" Zombie series, since it also was getting the cable treatment.


Now, this guy "Shonn" was into it all: Sci-Fi, Fantasy, Horror, Superhero, you name it, but for some reason, no matter how much times I offered to drop off the series to him, promising him he'd love it, all I got were excuses to NOT read them, and they were inspired excuses indeed! 

" I'm Too Busy During the Day to Read Anything".

"I'm so tired after working that I go right to sleep, so I have no time to read anything"

 "The House is a mess and I don't want to get your books all dirty,

plus, I'm gonna lose them if you bring them here"

"We move back and forth from the Town House to The Country House, 

I don't want to borrow anything till we settle in."

If there were any doubt that these were no more than half-baked excuses to pass over the series, I was at the Mall with his roommate last week who was shopping for either a Kindle or a Nook. When I asked why he was interested in getting one, he said, "it's not for me- Shonn has been asking for me to get him one so he has something to read up at the house since he's bored with nothing to do all day!" D'OH!
It was then that I finally gave up. If he didn't want to read the Walking Dead (or any OTHER things of mine, for that matter), that's HIS loss, NOT mine! LOL!
